Elementary

In the elementary school, we provide our students with a loving and nurturing educational environment where they can thrive spiritually, academically, and socially. The elementary classrooms provide the structure and learning opportunities needed for a strong academic foundation. Students are taught Biblical principles daily, and weekly chapel services incorporate Christian character traits. In addition to the core curriculum classes, students attend weekly enrichment classes such as Art, Spanish, P.E., Music, Computer, and Library. Our desire at NCA is to help each child realize and develop the gifts and talents that God has given to them. Our faculty and staff are committed to partnering with parents to ensure the success of all students.

Curriculum Overview

Grades K5-5 are basic foundational learning years in which our teachers strive to cultivate a love of learning within all students. In kindergarten through second grade, students are introduced to basic phonics, language, reading, handwriting, and mathematics skills. Upper elementary students are provided structured learning in language skills, Bible, spelling, reading, math, science, and history.

The elementary school at NCA provides students with a solid foundation for subsequent knowledge and skills, as well as the ability to integrate the Bible and a Christian perspective into their daily lives. Our goal at NCA is to discover, cultivate and strengthen each child’s God-given abilities and talents.

Learning Environment

The elementary classes provide a positive, nurturing, and loving environment in which students are encouraged to reach their academic potential. Teachers promote a structured environment in which consistent behavioral expectations are understood by all students. Appropriate behaviors are recognized with positive reinforcement and various forms of praise. Inappropriate behaviors are redirected and guidance is provided in the development of appropriate and acceptable behavior choices.
